Description:
Tetramisol is a mixture of two isomers: right-rotating (inactive) and left-rotating (tetramisol-active). Active in gastrointestinal tract and lung nematodes, including Haemonchus sp., Ostectagia spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Nematodirus spp., Bunostomun spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Cooperia spp., Dictyocaulus spp. Parasitic in rodent animals: Ascaris suum, Strongyloides ransomi, Metastrongylus spp., Oesophagostomum spp. In pigs, Ascarida spp., Capillaria spp. And other nematodes parasitic in birds. The mechanism of action of the drug is the enhancement of parasite outgrowth and cholinomimetic activity of the central nervous system, leading to nematode paralysis and death.
Indications:
Used for farm animals and birds from the disease treatment and prevention: diktiokaulosis, Haemonchosis, Bunostomosis, nematodirosis, ostertagiasis, kabertiosis, kuperiosis, strongiliosis, ascariasis, Oezophagostomosis, strongiloidosis, trichocephalosis, metastrongilozi, ascariasis, kapilariosis, heterakidosis, amidomostomosis, singamosis.
Dosage and Administration:
Animals are given oral tetramizole in the following doses:
Cattle, sheep ......................................................................................................1 gr. 25 kg. on weight.
Swine..................................................................................................................1 gr. 20 kg. on weight.
Poutry..................................................................................................................1 gr. 10 kg. on weight.
Contra-indications:
Infectious diseases, last third of life, impaired liver and kidney function.
Withdrawal period:
Meat: 10 days; Egg, milk: 4 days.
